30 seconds here, 30 second there...

Dan just finished the last of his fellowship interviews (yeah!). The boys and I had a lot of time together this week without him, but I've been having a hard time articulating what we've been up to for most of our days. Calvin has even been telling Dan that we've been not doing anything....little goober!

Actually, our days are full with moments instead of events these days. We've been doing lots of small things that line up with the boys' attention spans and nap time/meal time windows, each snippet lasting 30 seconds or maybe 10 minutes if we're lucky!  Most of which are outside...so thankful for that!

We stopped into an unfamiliar park for a bit before lunch. Luke stood up against this little curb for quite a while.

Jack has been growing so much recently! He's been initiating conversations and is seeming stronger and bigger. I just love this little guy! I keep texting Dan his little one-liners like, "I had a boo-ger in my mouth (pointing to some snot on the table)."

The dynamic with Calvin and Jack is changing a little bit. Jack is very independent as far as play. He goes where he wants instead of just following his big brother. So, now is almost seems like Calvin is following him. Jack does something, Calvin is on his heels to jump in.

Exhibit A: Jack finds the toadstools and starts playing on them. Calvin sees fun and jumps in!

Exhibit B: Jack found this caterpillar and was loving it, so Calvin comes to whisk it away....

Jack and Calvin (usually/sometimes/often...not sure which to pick) love being together these days.

Luke and I had a rare bit of alone time while the other guys slept a few days ago.  He is such a little lover....he thrives on any hugs, kisses, or tickles. I love how he leans in and giggles at the slightest indication that he's getting any of those!

Luke is becoming so much stronger and more mobile!  He eyes Calvin and Jack all day trying to get to where they are and do what they are doing.  This was a rare moment where he just stood still to fully explore something without being distracted by his noisy brothers!
All Luke wants to do is stand up. He pretty much looks like this the whole time we are outside. That is if he's not scooting over to put an acorn or piece of mulch in his mouth. He's so quick, but thankfully his guilty face tells me every time that I need to fish something out...
I've started trusting Calvin more to play with Luke, and they love it! Luke LOVED his ride on the inside bike with Calvin the other day!

I've been having to bathe these guys much more frequently than my weekly standard now that we are outside all day everyday. Here was the first bath with all three boys together. I think Luke was in heaven.
